Establishing themselves as one of the most exciting acts on the Cambridge music scene, Cores Do Samba brings the uplifting rhythms of Brazil—Samba, Bossa Nova, and MPB (Brazilian popular music).

The band celebrates the music of icons such as Gilberto, Jobim, Donato, Mendes, Gil, Buarque, Joyce, and the recently departed Hermeto Pascoal, Brazilian music legend known as “The Sorcerer”. Renowned for drawing music from anything—nature, the human body, everyday objects—Hermeto left us the powerful idea that absolutely everything can become sound, and that Brazil is an endless engine of invention thanks in part to his genius.

Fronted by Caru Lins, who has graced prestigious stages across the UK (Ronnie Scotts, Spice of Life, Pizza On The Park, Brown’s Hotel) and worldwide (No Black Tie in Kuala Lumpur, Platea Jazz in Panama, Stampen in Stockholm, and many more in Malaysia, Italy, and Brazil), the band features Paul Stubbs (trumpet), Vicki Kenny (piano), Giulio Isacco Lampronti (double bass), Micky Astor (guitar), and local jazz legend Les Cirkel (drums).
