The album Ancient Heart made Tanita Tikaram a star whilst still in her teens, its hit single Twist in My Sobriety an ever-present soundtrack to the late 1980s.

The album sold over four million copies, garnering a legion of loyal fans worldwide. Her music may be constantly and subtly evolving, her themes broadening, more politicised, but the vibrant blend of folk, pop, jazz and blues and even minimalism, coupled with sharply etched lyrics and a bewitching voice is still as captivating a live experience over three decades on.
