We are honoured to welcome Orphy Robinson, MBE as this year’s artist in residence. Orphy is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator. One of the few UK musicians to record for the legendary Blue Note jazz label, he has been a driving force in music for over four decades.

 

Orphy will be leading Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra (CUJO) with his own arrangements and compositions, from his position as vibraphonist and musical director of this performance (West Road Concert Hall 16th November).

 

He will also lead a workshop 'Freedom – the art of improvisation' at a special event at Jesus College (15th November) where he is a Visiting Fellow.
